Dhaka, Sept 4: Awami League acting general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Saturday alleged that the BNP-Jamaat allies were trying to create anarchy in the country while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was trying to establish the rule of law.

He made the allegation while speaking at a discussion on ‘The Role of Alumni to Implement Vision 2021’ and Iftar Mahfil at the Dhaka Officer’s Club in the city. Islamic University Alumni Association organized the program.

Dhaka, Sept 4: BNP senior joint secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged on Saturday that the Awami League government was
planning to turn Bangladesh into a terrorist state.

He made the allegation while addressing a gathering observing the 2nd jail release day of Tarique Rahman at the Engineers Institution in the capital.

 
'No govt hand if Golam Azam arrested'

Dhaka, Sept 3: State minister for law, Advocate Kamrul Islam said on Friday that the government would not have any hand in the event former Jamaat Ameer Golam Azam were arrested as there was a Tribunal court to investigate what Kamrul termed his (Azam's) offensive activities during the Liberation War. 

The court would surely order Golam Azam's arrest as he had already been proved a war criminal, Kamrul added in this regard.

Dhaka, Sept 3: Judges, at different times, disgraced themselves by administering oath to military rulers, but through the verdicts dismissing the 5th and the 7th amendments to the Constitution, they were freed from the disgrace and their dignity had been held high in the eyes of the nation, said former home minister Mohammad Nasim on Friday.

He was speaking at a discussion meeting on ‘the dismissal of 5th and 7th amendments and mass-queries about illegal rules at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.

Dhaka, Sept 3: BNP senior joint secretary general Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir alleged on Friday that the Bangladesh Awami League had forgotten the name of its real founder. 

Moulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was the real founder of the Awami League, he claimed in this regard.
